FlashCardGratis is engineered with a strict local-first, offline architecture. We do not collect, monitor, track, sell, or transmit your personal information, flashcard contents, images, or audio recordings to external servers.
1. Data Storage and Processing
FlashCardGratis operates entirely on your device:
- Study Content: All flashcard text (questions and answers), collections, favorites, and custom sort order are stored solely on your device within a private SQLite database.
- Media Attachments: Images and audio files attached to cards are copied to and referenced within your device's isolated application storage cache.
- No Cloud Sync or Remote Storage: There is no remote account registration, user profiling, or remote cloud database backing the app. Your data never leaves your physical device unless you explicitly export a backup.
2. Device Permissions & System Access
The app requests access to specific device capabilities solely to enable core flashcard functionality:
- Photo Library Access: Used exclusively when you choose to attach an image to a flashcard side. The app accesses only the individual image selected through the system photo picker.
- Files / Document Picker Access: Used exclusively when you choose to attach an audio file to a card, upload study decks via CSV, or restore collections from a local backup file.
3. Third-Party Services and Telemetry
- No Tracking SDKs: We do not embed analytics SDKs, behavioral trackers, or third-party advertising frameworks.
- No AI Data Processing: FlashCardGratis does not send your study materials or audio to third-party artificial intelligence or cloud inference providers.
4. Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion
- Manual Deletions: You can delete individual cards or entire collections directly inside the app at any time.
- Master Reset: The in-app Settings menu contains an "Erase All Data" option that immediately wipes all local collections and database entries from the device.
- App Deletion: Removing the FlashCardGratis application from your device permanently purges all local databases and cached media files managed by the app.
- User-Controlled Export: You may export individual collections or your entire deck library as CSV backup files at your discretion via the system share sheet.
5. Children's Privacy
Because FlashCardGratis does not collect any personal data or transmit information over the internet, the app is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international privacy frameworks.
